The Christ Child Society of Geauga County is holding its 29th annual Red Wagon Spring Luncheon and Chinese auction at St. Noel Party Center in Willoughby Hills. Guest emcee is Jen Harcher, Channel 8 meteorologist.

Bluegrass at Hambden Grange
April 27, 6 p.m.
Hambden Grange will host Mark Posey’s and Doghouse Entertainment Bluegrass Jamboree, featuring Young & Blue and M & M Express. Doors open at 6 p.m.; show starts at 7 p.m.
Food stand is available. Tickets are $10 for adults. Children under 11 are free.
The Grange is located at 9778 Old State Road, Chardon.
KOC Pancakes
April 28, 8 a.m. to noon
St. Mary of Chardon Knights of Columbus will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon in the cafeteria at St. Mary Church, 401 North St., Chardon. Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 children 6-12 years. Children 5 and under are free. Enjoy free parking for the Maple Festival after pancakes.
Auburn Spring Plant Sale
Auburn Career Center’s Landscape Horticulture spring plant sale will begin April 29 at 10985 Girdled Road, right behind the high school. Sale hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 12-2 p.m. while supplies last.
A wide variety of plants and Proven Winners hanging baskets will be available.

GGP Partnership Meeting

Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP) will hold its annual Partnership Meeting at the Sisters of Notre Dame Education Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon.
The free breakfast meeting will feature Mr. Jim Tressel, president, Youngstown State University, as the keynote speaker. The 2019 Frank Samuel Distinguished Service Award recipient will be presented to Kent State University Geauga & Regional Academic Center.

Trinkets and Treasures Sale
May 1-4
The Federated Church of Chagrin Falls will hold its annual Trinkets and Treasures sale of quality household and kitchen goods, sporting equipment, holiday decor, gently worn clothing and accessories, tools, books, children’s toys, electronics, jewelry, antiquesand more at the Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 2 and 3 and 9 a.m. to noon May 4, half price bag day.
Shop the “First Opportunity to Buy” event on May 1 from 5:30-8 p.m. Admission is $10 on Wednesday only. Bids will be accepted on an antique oil painting and award-winning handmade quilt. A collection of paintings will be offered through the event.

Mayfield Church Rummage Sale

A rummage sale will be held at Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Road in Chester Township. All proceeds are for missions.

Dr. Molly Sergi, professor of history, Kent State University Geauga Campus,will present “Remembering Veterans and the Meaning of Memorial Day in Geauga County”at the next Geauga Economic Leadership (G.E.L.) breakfast program atKent State University Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road in Burton. She will highlight veterans from each era and describe the importance and evolution of Memorial Day in America and Geauga County, including traditions and history.
Breakfast and networking begin at 7:30 a.m. Free and open to the public. Registration is appreciated.

Master Gardeners Offer Free Class
May 4, 10-11 a.m.
Master Gardener volunteers Ann Rodewig and Dick Coin will lead a free Tools of the Trade class at the Geauga County OSU Extension Office, Patterson Center, 14269 Claridon-Troy Road in Burton. The right tools go a long way in helping to achieve a dream garden in northeast Ohio. Learn how to care for them in the long term and make environmental friendly choices.

Parks Foundation Hosts Walk
May 4, 10:30 a.m.
The Foundation for Geauga Parks will be hosting a walk at Frohring Meadows, 16780 Savage Road, Bainbridge Township. The approximately 2.5 mile walk should last about 90 minutes and will take place rain or shine.
Bring binoculars to view migrating birds. Pets are welcome.
Foundation representatives plan to share some history of the park and upcoming enhancements planned for habitat and structures.
Open House at Chesterland Village
May 5, 2-4 p.m.
Celebrate spring at the Chesterland Historical Village by getting a first hand look at Riding The Rails, the interurban electric train that once traveled Geauga County. Docents in the Interurban Train Museum located in the Old Town Hall on the village green will share the history of the era.
Activities for the children will be offered and all the vintage buildings will be open. Admission is free.
The Village is located on the corner of Caves and Mayfield roads in Chester Township.
Perennial Gardeners Plant Sale
May 11, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Perennial Gardeners of Chesterland’s annual plant saleat Chester Town Hall, 13455 Chillicothe Road, features perennials, annuals, shrubs, herbs and lush hanging baskets. Shop the Garden Shed for old, repurposed and new finds.The sale will be held rain or shine.
The group meets once a month, usually at West Geauga Middle School. Membership is open to all Geauga County residents.

Geauga Dems Women’s Caucus
May 14, 6 p.m.
Dianne Kellogg, director of the Red Tulip Project, will be the speaker at the Geauga Democratic Women’s Caucus meeting and dinner at the party headquarters and social hall located at 12420 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township.
Suggested donation is $15. All money collected will to go the Red Tulip Project, which operates a sober house in Geauga County. Paper supplies for the Red Tulip Project House will also be collected. Questions? Call 440-226-1051.
Christian Women’s Connection
