Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve schnitzel sandwiches for dinner every Wednesday in June to complement its weekly drawings. Cost is $6 per serving.

Splash Party

June 7, 1-4:45 p.m.

The Chardon Community Action Team (CCAT) will be hosting a splash party for local residents. With the participation of the City of Chardon, the splash party will be held at the Chardon Municipal Pool, 316 Maple Ave. Enjoy swimming, sunshine, food for purchase and music offered by a DJ. Entry is free.

Shop Hop & Dine

June 7, 5 p.m.

The newly created merchant association Burton Village NOW is hosting its first event in historic Burton Village. Shop Hop & Dine will offer visitors an opportunity to shop local as well as drink and dine in some of the finest restaurants and eateries Geauga County has to offer.

Live music will be performed in the gazebo, a raffle will take place to win a basket of items, gift certificates and discounts from all participating local businesses. The Red Maple Inn will also be offering a chance to win an overnight stay.

Flea Market Sale

June 8, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Peace Lutheran Church will hold a flea market in its parking lot located at 12686 Bass Lake Road in Munson Township.

Children’s Charity Rummage Sale

June 13-15

Christ Covenant Church, 16406 Kinsman Road in Middlefield, is holding its rummage sale to benefit Charity Children’s Ministries.

GCP Networking Event

Meet the incoming president of Geauga Growth Partnership, Kimm Leininger, at the networking event being held at Sharon James Cellars, 11303 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township. The event is free. Chardon VFW Aux. Rib Dinner

June 15, 5:30-7 p.m.

Chardon VFW Auxiliary Post 6519 is hosting a rib dinner and drawing. Enjoy a half rack of “Malone Zone” ribs with sides. Donation is $25. Only 100 tickets will be sold for the $1,000 drawing.
Tickets are available in the canteen. The public is welcome.

Blackbrook Audubon Picnic

June 18, 6 p.m.

Blackbrook Audubon Society will hold its annual potluck picnic open to everyone at Lake Metroparks’ Hidden Lake. Bring a dish to share, place setting and beverage to 7024 Kniffen Road, Leroy Township. Hot dogs and dinner will be provided. Following the meal, picnickers will have the option of a naturalist-led hike or more time in the four-season shelter with fellow birders.

Christian Women’s Connection

The Geauga County Farm Bureau is hosting its annual ice cream social at Claridon Woodlands Lodge, 11383 Claridon Troy Road, Claridon Township. Bring the family for King Kone ice cream, music, games and more.

Open to the public, the event is free for Farm Bureau members and $5 for non-members.

Annual WG Alumni Reunion

June 28, 5 p.m.

All graduates of Chester, Russell and West Geauga schools are invited to attend the 139th annual alumni reunion dinner at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 11900 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.

Guest speaker Judi Bebout Schwed, a West Geauga graduate and president of the Chesterland Historical Foundation, will present “A Walk Down Memory Lane.”

Reservations must be received by June 14 for dinner and the program.

WG Girls Varsity Soccer Camp

July 29 to Aug. 1, 6-8 p.m.

The West Geauga High School girls varsity soccer team will be holding a soccer camp for youth in grades 1-8 on the West Geauga High School turf field. Players will be separated into appropriate age groups and/or skill levels. The coaching staff will consist of girls varsity and junior varsity players and coaching staff.

Cost is $90 per player if registered by June 7 or $110 after. Cost for each additional sibling is $70. Each camper receives a T-shirt and two free tickets to a home game.
