Sept. 5-7
The St. Mark Lutheran Church Women’s League will hold its annual rummage sale at the church located at 11900 Chillicothe in Chester Township.
Hours are Thursday, 4-7 p.m., with a $5 donation at the door; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free Friday and Saturday.
Join The Flight
£Sept. 6-8
EAA Chapter 5 will bring the World War II B-17 “Aluminum Overcast” to Lost Nation Airport. Visit www.B17.org to purchase tickets in advance.
Ground tours are also available and can be purchased at the event only. All active military and veterans are complimentary. Group and family rates available.
Flights will operate 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and ground tours are from 2- 5 p.m.
The airport will have World War II vehicles, videos and displays available to see and merchandise to purchase. On Saturday and Sunday, EAA Chapter 5 will prepare a pancake breakfast for purchase; breakfast is free for World War II veterans.

Newbury United Community Church will be hosting a fresh produce giveaway at the church located at 14961 Auburn Road.
Cleveland FoodBank provides the service to low income Geauga County residents the first Saturday of each month. Please bring ID and bags.
Maple Highlands Bike Ride
Sept. 7, 10:30 a.m.
The Foundation for Geauga Parks is hosting a relaxing bicycle ride at along the Geauga Park District’s Maple Highlands Trail.
The group will enjoy an approximately 5-mile stretch of beautiful farm vistas and woodlands from Headwaters Park 608 entrance north to Claridon Woodlands, and then return the same way.
Riders supply their own bicycles, helmets recommended.
The round trip will include a 20-30 minute rest stop midway at Claridon Woodlands, and will take place rain or shine.
Meet along the trail near Headwaters Park’s first parking lot at 13365 Old State Road, Huntsburg Township.
VFW Wednesday Dinners
Wednesdays, 5-7 p.m.
Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve Italian sausage sandwiches every Wednesday in September at the post located at 752 Water St. Donation is $6.50. French fries are an additional $2. The public is welcome.
Genealogical Society Meets
Sept. 10, 7 p.m.
Deborah Abbott presents “Organizing Your Genealogy” at the next meeting of the Geauga County Genealogical Society meeting at the Chardon Library 110 E. Park St. The program is free and open to all.

Join Cub Scouts
Sept. 10, 7-8 p.m.
Cub Scouts Pack 3141 will hold a meet and greet for new familiesat First United Methodist Church, 14999 S. State Ave, Middlefield. Meetings will continue to be held there every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Pack 3141 is open to all youth ages of 5 to 12 and teaches leadership, group activity, self esteem, good citizenship and physical fitness. Parents are included in meetings.
Geauga Plastic Coalition

Debate Watch, Straw Poll Party
Sept. 12, 8 p.m.
Join for a fun night at the Geauga County Democratic Headquarters in Newbury Township watching the top 10 Democratic candidates on the debate stage. There will be a straw poll after the debate. Enjoy pizza, popcorn, soda and dessert for a $5 donation.
Village Peddler Festival
Sept. 14-15
The 38th annual Village Peddler Festival will be held on Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lake Metroparks Farmpark, 8800 Euclid Chardon Road in Kirtland.
Featuring more than 175 craftsmen and artisans, all items are crafted and made in the styles of traditional, country, contemporary, farmhouse, vintage and fine art.
Event includes food vendors, gourmet market and wagon rides, corn maze and children’s playground and farm animals. The shopping experience will be enhanced by live folk and bluegrass music by The Silver String Band daily from noon to 4 p.m.
Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors over 60 and $5 for children ages 2-11. Children under 2 are free. Parking is free.

50 Gun and Sport Raffle
Sept. 14, 1-9 p.m.
The first annual Geauga Veterans Sport Fest will feature guns, sports equipment and cash to be raffled off at Great Lakes Outdoor Supply, 14855 N. State Ave., Middlefield.
Tickets will be drawn every 30 minutes, from 1-6 p.m.
Purchase tickets online at GeaugaVets.com or from Geauga County-based American Legion posts, Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, the Geauga Veterans Service Center and local retail outlets.Winner need not be present.
Vendors will offer sideboards and raffles. Food trucks and refreshments will be onsite; veteran and local organizations will be present.
Entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. with The Fort Huntsburg Band, and culminate with fireworks at dark at Yoder Bros. Park located at the north end of Thompson Avenue. The fireworks are sponsored by the Village of Middlefield

DTJ Clambake
Sept. 15, 1-3 p.m.
DTJ Taborville is holding a clambake at its location in Auburn Township at the intersection of Bartholemew and Quinn roads. By reservation only, cost is $25.50 per bake. Extra clams are $8.50 per dozen. A children’s meal will be available for $4.

Creations Boutique Sale

The Children’s Guild of Cleveland is hosting its 75th annual Creations Boutique featuring handmade seasonal gifts and décor, gourmet and hostess gifts, jewelry, women’s and children’s clothing, accessories and artworkat Dino’s at Cleveland Metroparks Acacia Reservation, 26899 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst. There will be boutique raffle items and more, showcasing Guild artisans.
Admission is $5 at the door. All proceeds benefit selected Cleveland children’s nonprofit organizations.
