A spaghetti dinner and auction by the Middlefield Cub Scout Pack 3141 Boy Scouts of America is being held at Parkman Community House on U.S. Route 422 in Parkman Township.

Cub Scout Benefit Dinner

Jan. 24, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

A spaghetti dinner and auction by the Middlefield Cub Scout Pack 3141 Boy Scouts of America is being held at Parkman Community House on U.S. Route 422 in Parkman Township.

Tickets purchased in advance are $9 for adults, $5 ages 5-12. Kids under 5 eat for free. At the door tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for ages 5-12. Carryout dinners are available.

Auction tickets will be sold during dinner, with the auction drawing at 7 p.m. Those entering the 50/50 must be present.

Presale tickets are available at the scout meetings that begin at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at Middlefield United Methodist Church, 14999 S. State Ave., or by calling Monique at 216-337-2104.

Event is sponsored by Friends of Pack 3141 and 100 percent of proceeds will benefit the pack.

Food Distribution

Jan. 25, 9-11 a.m.

The Cleveland Food Bank will be distributing food to people in need at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road in Chardon.

Audubon Visits Farm Fields

Jan. 25, 9 a.m.

Several bird species use the farm fields of Geauga County as feeding grounds in the winter. Blackbrook Audubon will meet at the Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve, 11620 Ravenna Road, Chardon.

Participants will caravan to sites in Middlefield and Parkman. Bring money for lunch at Mary Yoder’s Amish Kitchen in Middlefield.

Then, on Jan. 26 at 8 a.m., join Blackbrook for its monthly Important Bird Area survey at Beaty Landing. Meet in the parking lot at 543 East Walnut Ave. in Painesville.

Bluegrass at Hambden Grange

Jan. 25, 7 p.m.

Hambden Grange will host Mark Posey’s Doghouse Entertainment Bluegrass Jamboree, featuring Tug Creek and Backwoods Bluegrass. Doors open at 6 p.m.; show starts at 7 p.m.

Food stand is available. Tickets are $12 for adults and children under 11 are free.

The Grange is located at 9778 Old State Road, Chardon.

Tea Party Meets

Jan. 28, 6:30 p.m.

The Geauga County Tea Party hosts Micah Derry, from Americans for Prosperity, at the Metzenbaum facility located at 8200 Cedar Road in Chester Township.

Derry will be speaking in opposition to the electric utility industry bailout that occurred in 2019, and discussing the referendum in process.

Gentle Yoga At Chardon UMC

Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Join for a gentle, progressive style of yoga suitable for all ages and body types at the Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St. No experience is needed.

Conducted by master teacher and instructor Susan Gundersen, a suggested donation of $10 is requested, with proceeds going towards the church’s Guatemala mission. Bring a yoga mat, light blanket and wear comfortable clothing.

50 Gun Bash

Feb. 1, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ducks Unlimited on Northeast Ohio will host their 50 Gun Bash at the Pavilion Building/Heritage Market Place, 15848 Nauvoo Road in Middlefield. Doors open and side raffles start at 11 a.m. Food will be served from 1-4 p.m.

The first gun for the main raffle will be drawn at 1 p.m., with one gun will be given away every five minutes.

Attendance tickets are $20 each, advance purchase only. Raffle only tickets are $10 each or three for $20.

Four Chaplains Program

Feb. 2, 3 p.m.

The Burton-Middlefield American Legion will host its annual Four Chaplains program at the Atwood-Mauck Post 459, 14052 Goodwin St. in Burton. The program is open to the public.

GCRTA Meeting

Feb. 4, 11 a.m.

The Geauga Country Retired Teachers Association will meet in St. Mary’s Church Banquet Room, 401 North St, Chardon. Gathering time will be followed by a business meeting and a roast pork luncheon at noon.

Chardon Municipal Court Judge Terri Stupica will speak on current legal hot topics. A 50/50 raffle and free lunch raffle will follow the program.

GEL Breakfast

Feb. 7, 7:30-9:30 a.m.

Geauga Growth Partnership, Kent State University at Geauga and Leadership Geauga will present “Geauga: State of the County” at the next Geauga Economic Leadership (G.E.L.) breakfast taking place at Kent State Geauga, 14111 Claridon-Troy Road in Burton.

Moderator Jim McClintock of Company 119 will lead the program, which includes presentations that offer attendees a broad perspective of the state of the community.
