Free Document Shredding
June 13, 9 a.m. to noon
The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District has teamed up with Protect-n-Shred to conduct a document shredding event at the Geauga County Engineer’s Yard, 12665 Merritt Road in Chardon. There is a limit of up to four boxes or bags per vehicle. Due to COVID-19, empty boxes will not be returned; COVID-19 precautions will be in effect.

The program is free and open only to residents of Geauga and Trumbull counties and will be held rain or shine.
China Lake To Blue Skies
June 15, 7 p.m.
Join EAA Chapter 5 in Hangar 3 at Geauga County Airport in Middlefield for a presentation by Tony Mazzolini on the story on how he and his colleagues found Doc, the abandoned B-29 in the desert and brought it from California to Wichita, where they restored the aircraft into an airworthy piece of history.
To ensure protocols of social distancing, dinner will not be served and masks are highly encouraged. Donations will be accepted; make checks payable to “Doc’s Friends.”
American Legion Steak Roast
June 20, 5-7 p.m.
The Newbury American Legion Steak Roast will be held at 11008 Kinsman Road. Tickets are $12 presale or $15 at the door. Takeout is available.

GGP Annual Meeting
June 23, 8-9:30 a.m.
Geauga Growth Partnership will hold its annual meeting as a virtual event. GGP leadership will present organizational updates, as well as share future priorities, which have been identified in the organization’s strategic plan.
In addition, keynote speaker Christopher Mapes, president and CEO of Lincoln Electric, will speak about his views on the global economy and the 125th anniversary of Lincoln Electric.

Farm Bureau Merges, Relocates
Effective June 1, the Northeast Counties Farm Bureau office covering the farm bureaus in Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake and Trumbull counties is merging and relocating into a regional office with nine other county farm bureaus. The regional office will consist of Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Trumbull, Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Summit, Erie, Huron, Lorain and Cuyahoga counties.
The new location is at 8460 Ridge Road, North Royalton. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
