Fair Food Drive-Thru

The Geauga County Fair Grounds in Burton is holding a Fair Food Drive-Thru every Friday, from 4-7:30 p.m.; Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. There will be a pizza sub trailer, lemonade and fries trailer, funnel cakes, and an ice cream and frozen treat trailer.

American Legion Steak Roast

June 20, 5-7 p.m.

The Newbury American Legion Steak Roast will be held at 11008 Kinsman Road. Tickets are $12 presale or $15 at the door. Takeout is available.

Geauga Tea Party Meets

June 23, 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Geauga County Tea Party will meet at the East Pavilion at Chester Township’s Parkside facility, located at the intersection of state routes 306 and 322.
Speaker Mark Seme, of Americans for Prosperity,
will discuss the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 virus focusing on the CARES program and other regulatory matters.
The outdoor facility will provide the opportunity for common sense social distancing and mask use as people exercise their constitutional rights of assembly.

Dorothy’s Porch Giveaway

June 24 and 25, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A free giveaway of clothing for the family, household items, bedding, books and toys will be held at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road, Chardon.

No donations will be accepted at this time. Masks are required; social distancing will be observed.

Free Document Shredding

June 27, 9 a.m. to noon

The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District has teamed up with Protect-n-Shred to conduct a document shredding event at the Geauga Trumbull Collection Facility, 5138 Enterprise Drive in Warren.

There is a limit of up to four boxes or bags per vehicle. Due to COVID-19, empty boxes will not be returned; COVID-19 precautions will be in effect.

The program is free and open only to residents of Geauga and Trumbull counties and will be held rain or shine.

DTJ Chicken and Duck Dinner

June 28, 12-2 p.m.

DTJ Taborville is hosting a chicken and duck dinner at 9850 North Blvd., Auburn Township. Cost is $12.50 for an adult dinner and $6.50 for a children’s chicken dinner. A half duck dinner is $17.50.

Enjoy music by Patty C and the Guys from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Czech beers are available at the bar.

VFW Aux. Breakfast Raffle

Chardon VFW Auxiliary is serving breakfast from 9-10 a.m. followed by a $500 raffle at 10:15 a.m. Breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, french toast and more. Donation is $15.
