Meal Delivery Volunteers Needed
The Geauga County Department on Aging is in need of Home Delivered Meal drivers in the Chardon area. The meal routes start at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive.
The Home Delivered Meals program delivers warm, nutritious lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday to homebound seniors.
The department on aging is looking for area agencies, organizations, church groups and individuals 18 years old or over with a valid driver’s license. Training includes filing volunteer paperwork and a short orientation. Volunteers can deliver meals on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or as needed/substitute basis.

Geauga Trail Challenge
Oct. 1–31
Geauga Trail Challenge is open to any individual to set personal activity goals for exploring their parks, while appealing to friends and family to “sponsor” their goals with donations and pledges to the Foundation for Geauga Parks. Participants may join as an individual, as part of a team, create their own team or just donate.
The activity is being held in lieu of the annual Twilight Soiree fundraising event that was canceled due to COVID 19.

Chardon VFW Clambake

Enjoy a traditional clambake dinner at Chardon VFW Post 6519, 752 Water St.
Donation is $25 per person for one dozen clams and half a chicken dinner, and $10 for extra clams. The public is welcome.

Audubon Surveys Local Park
Oct. 25, 8 a.m.
Help Blackbrook Audubon find migrating birds during its next monthly survey at Beaty Landing. Park and meet at the lower lot of Beaty Landing, 543 East Walnut Ave., Painesville.
Blackbrook will monitor this site on the fourth Sunday of each month until March 2021. The list of birds found is posted on eBird.org.

Food Truck or Treat
Oct. 30, 3:30-7:30 p.m.
Join for a food truck or treat at Spear Chardon Tractor Sales, 12600 GAR Highway. Truck or treat at each of the five local Northeast Ohio food trucks and the first 50 kids to stop by will receive goody bags from Spear Chardon Tractor. Event also features a family costume contest with a $50 prize.

Chardon VFW Pancake Breakfasts

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will host pancake breakfasts with french toast, sausage and ham. Senior and kids menus are available.

Historical Village Open House
Nov. 1, 12-4 p.m.
The Chesterland Historical Village will be holding an open house for all the vintage buildings on the corner of Caves and Mayfield roads in Chester Township. Docents will be on site to welcome visitors and give tours. Masks are required and social distancing will be practiced.
There will also be a holiday sale of quality handcrafted gift items displayed in the town hall. The sale is in lieu of the annual boutique and tea usually held in the Tanner House.
DTJ Chicken and Duck Dinner
Nov. 1, 12-2 p.m.
DTJ Taborville is having its final chicken and duck dinner of the year at 9850 North Blvd, Auburn Township. Cost is $12.50 for an adult dinner and $6.50 for a children’s chicken dinner. A half duck dinner is $17.50.
Czech beer is available at the bar. Frank Moravic will provide music from 12:30- 3:30 p.m.

Annual Turkey Dinner

The Women’s Fellowship of Parkman Congregational Church is preparing and serving their annual Election Day turkey dinner with all the trimmings at the church located at 18265 Madison Road.
Dinner is $12 per person. Due to social distancing requirements, dinner is drive-through, carryout only.
