Drive-Thru Food Distribution
Tuesdays, 3-5 p.m.
United Way Services of Geauga County has teamed up the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to provide boxes of food to Geauga residents.
The drive-thru food distribution will take place each Tuesday in February and March at the Geauga County Fairgrounds, 14373 North Cheshire St., Burton.

Four Chaplains Ceremony
Feb. 7, 1 p.m.
The Burton-Middlefield American Legion will host its annual Four Chaplains ceremony at the Atwood-Mauck Post 459, 14052 Goodwin St. in Burton. The program is open to the public.

Valentine’s Community Meal
Feb. 9, 4-6 p.m.
Valley Presbyterian Church hosts its next community dinner featuring pulled pork sandwiches and macaroni and cheese.
Packaged meals will be available for carryout and can be reserved by signing up on the church website at valleypresbychurch.org or by calling the church office, 440-543-1071, by noon on Feb. 9. All are welcome.
The church is located at 17560 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Township.
NEOCAG Meeting
Feb. 13, 9:15 a.m.
The NorthEast Ohio Computer-Aided Genealogy Society, Inc. (NEOCAG), an educational organization for people interested in genealogical research using electronic means, will hold its monthly meeting virtually over Zoom. The meeting opens at 9:15 a.m. with the presentation beginning at 9:45 a.m.
Speaker Margaret Lynch will present “Researching Irish Ancestors.” The presentation will be followed by questions and an open forum.

VFW Pork Chop Dinners
Wednesdays, 5-7 p.m.
Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve pork chop and scalloped potato dinners on Wednesdays in February at the post located at 752 Water St. Donation is $8. Dinners are open to the public.
American Legion Pancakes
Atwood-Mauck American Legion Post 459 is serving its annual pancake and sausage breakfasts Sundays, Feb. 14 through April 18, except April 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 14052 Goodwin St. in Burton. Breakfast is by takeout only. The public is welcome.

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will be serving its annual pancake breakfasts every Sunday, Feb. 14 through April 25, excluding April 4, from 8 a.m. to noon at the post located at 752 Water St. in Chardon. Senior and kids menus are available. Breakfast features pancakes, eggs made to order, French toast, sausage, bacon, ham, home fries, toast and beverages. Carryout is available.

Audubon Shares Threats to Birds
Feb. 16, 7 p.m.
Cleveland-area photographer and author Steve Cagan will introduce Blackbrook Audubon guests to the Colombian Pacific coast rain forest area of El Chocó in a virtual program. He will describe the biodiversity of this natural treasure and the harm caused to bird populations by mining and logging.

Woodland Wednesdays Workshop
Feb. 17, 6-7:30 p.m.
Join for a virtual field tour of Working Woods, the demonstration forest at the Holden Arboretum, and experience management sites though 360 photos, videos and maps.
Collaborators include Natural Resources Conservation Service, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Division of Forestry, Farm Bureau and Ohio Division of Wildlife.

Composting 101
March 16, 6 p.m.
The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), Geauga West Library, the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District and Geauga County Master Gardeners will host Composting 101: Take the Leap and Start Your Heap. Join for the free online program to learn composting basics and benefits, different composting methods and how to avoid common composting problems.
Participants will have a chance to win a compost bin. Geauga residents will be eligible to receive a free kitchen compost pal.
