St. Mary’s Parish Chardon will offer its fish fry dinners Fridays in Lent by carryout only. Curbside pickup is available from the church located at 401 North St.

Maple Driving Tour
March 13 and 14
Join in the 2021 NE Ohio “How Sweet It Is” drive it yourself sugarbush tour hosted by Maple Producers of NE Ohio. Maple syrup producers across northeast Ohio will open their sugarhouses to visitors to learn about their operations and see the different ways they make their syrup.

VFW Corned Beef Sandwiches

Christian Women’s Connection

Christian Women’s Connection hosts a free Zoom event with speaker Shirley Smith giving her message on “The Good the Bad and the Ugly of Decision Making.” The event also features decluttering and downsizing tips from Transitional Design, a senior move management company.

Tunebackers Chinese Auction
March 20, 12-6 p.m.
The Berkshire Tunebackers are hosting their 10th annual spring fundraising Chinese auction at the Claridon Headwaters Park Boathouse pavilion, 13365 Old State Road, Huntsburg Township. It is a “stop in and bid” event due to Covid gathering restrictions.
After the event closes, winners will be drawn and contacted. Prizes must be picked up on March 21 from 12-4 p.m. at the boathouse.

Project Geauga Parks

Join Protect Geauga Parks for a Zoom webinar, “Much LaDue About Fracking.” Featured speaker Shelley Blundell, assistant professor in journalism and communication at Youngstown State University, will discuss what watershed moments in the history of Akron’s water supply and fracking in the Mahoning Valley could predict for Geauga County’s LaDue Reservoir and its uncertain “fracking future.”
The webinar is free, but guests must pre-register to attend. After registering, a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar will be sent.

Czech Easter Bread
DTJ Taborville is selling the traditional Czech Easter bread by order only. Mazanec, or houska, is a sweet dough with golden raisins and almonds baked into a round loaf with a cross cut into the top.
Cost is $8 for a 2-pound loaf. Orders must be placed by March 24 and can be picked up March 28. Call 440-543-8494 to place orders.
