Audubon Hosts Big Sit
May 16, 8:30 a.m.
Blackbrook Audubon will once again sponsor a Big Sit at Headlands Beach State Park. Birders of all skill levels should meet at the far eastern side of the parking lot, row P-1, near the Headlands Dunes State Nature Preserve. Bring snacks, beverages, chairs and binoculars.
Blessing of the Bikes
May 16, 12:30 p.m.
Pastor Dennis will perform a blessing of the bikes at Thompson United Methodist Church, 6758 Madison Road in Thompson Township. Arrive at 12:30 p.m. for the 1 p.m. blessing. A short ride will follow.
The church youth group will provide refreshments by donation.
The event is sponsored by the Red Knights Motorcycle Club Ohio Chapter One and Christ’s Crusaders – the Christian Motorcycle Association chapter for Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga counties.
Audubon Reveals Reticent Coyote
May 18, 7 p.m.
Blackbrook Audubon Society will host a virtual program featuring Cleveland Metroparks wildlife ecologist Jon Cepek on Eastern coyotes. Cepek will describe the ecology and behavior of the seldom seen, but often misunderstood canine and illustrate their interactions with humans and pets using information based on Cleveland Metroparks research and national studies.

VFW Spaghetti Dinners
Wednesdays, 5-7 p.m.
Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve spaghetti with meatballs for dinner every Wednesday in May. Cost is $7.50 per serving. Extra meatballs are 50 cents each. The public is welcome.
Good Deeds Program Returns
May 19, 6 p.m.
The Good Deeds Program returns to meeting safely in-person at Auburn Township’s Adam Hall, 11455 E. Washington St. Volunteer attorneys will be present at the free event to discuss estate planning situations.

BMR Hosts Jeep Night
May 21, 4:30-8 p.m.
The Rotary Club of Burton-Middlefield is sponsoring a Jeep night to benefit the Geauga County Veteran Food Pantry at Madrick’s Tavern, 10760 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township. Entertainment donated by Madrick’s will be DJ Jason Adkins.
Each entrant is asked to make a monetary donation or donate a canned good for the food pantry. There will be door prizes and drawings every half hour.

CVHS Herb Sale
May 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Chagrin Valley Herb Society members will be selling herbs at Auburn Pointe Greenhouse, 10089 East Washington. Auburn Pointe will donate a portion of the Saturday herb sales to CVHS to help create new gardens at the new Bainbridge Library. Enter a drawing to win an herbal related prize with the purchase of one herbal plant.
SNPJ Music Fest & Craft Show

Slovenska Narodna Podporna Jednota (SNPJ)) is hosting a music fest and craft show, rain or shine, at the SNPJ farm located at 10946 Heath Road in Kirtland. The craft show runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the music fest running from noon to 10 p.m.
A fundraiser for the Cultural Preservation of Slovenian Heritage, the event features 30 vendors, 15 polka bands, a dance floor, playground, games and food and beverages.
Gates open at 11 a.m. Gate fee is $15, or $10 in advance.

RHS Memorial Day Service
May 23, 3 p.m.
Russell Township Historical Society is sponsoring a Memorial Day service at Briar Hill Church on the southeast corner of Chillicothe and Fairmount roads in Russell Township. Weather permitting, the services will be held outdoors.
Guest speaker is the Honorable Timothy J. Grendell. Boy Scout Troop 193 will participate as well as many others.
Parking is available in the drive and in Riverview Cemetery across the road.
