Thompson/Ledgemont Reunion

The annual Thompson/Ledgemont High School Old Timers Reunion will be held at Montville Community Center, 9755 Madison Road, Montville Township. Bring a brown bag lunch; beverages will be provided.
The Ledgemont classes of 1970 and 1971 will be honored for their 50th anniversary, and the Ledgemont classes of 1980 and 1981 will be welcomed for the first time. Nametags will be provided.

Concert On The Square

Thompson Township continues its Concerts on the Square with InCahootz. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Tea Party Meets

Geauga County Tea Party will meet at the Metzenbaum Center, 8200 Cedar Road, Chester Township. Patty Gascoyne, an Ohio-based conservative with 30 years experience in politics and political activism, will present “Human Trafficking in Ohio and the Somali Connection.” Learn how Ohio will rank second in the nation in 2022 for child sex trafficking and what Mike DeWine did to affect these statistics.

Chardon VFW Shrimp Dinners
Wednesdays, 5-7 p.m.
Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve butterflied shrimp and coleslaw dinners with sides on Wednesdays in July at the post located at 752 Water St. Donation is $8.
The post also serves chicken sandwiches on Tuesday evenings and hamburgers on Thursdays. All dinners are open to the public.
Rummage Sale

Horticulture Flower Show

The Gates Mills Garden Club is sponsoring its bi-annual horticulture flower show featuring a broad range of common and unique plant material displayed for judging. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Esquire’s Cottage, the club’s privately owned property located at 1280 Chagrin River Road in Gates Mills.
A photography display of natural elements and a children’s education display on floating wetland gardens will be available for viewing. To celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary, members have assembled a visual history of the club complete with photos reflecting the many activities and events conducted by the club.

Happy Tails Summer Feline Fundraiser

Happy Tails Cat Sanctuary is hosting its Summer Feline Fundraiser at the VFW Hall, 752 Water St., Chardon.
Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. Event features a dinner buffet from 5-8 p.m., silent and Chinese auctions, 50/50 raffle and door prizes. A cash bar will be available at the VFW bar.
RSVP by July 9. Tickets are $35 and will be held at the door unless requested in advance. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit, no-kill cat sanctuary.

GSWCD Conservation Crusaders

Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District invites youth to become Conservation Crusaders during its program on Native Plant and Pollinator Power being held at the Natural Resources Pavilion of the Geauga County Fairgrounds.
Children of all ages must be accompanied by an adult to join the free, outdoor program to learn all about the superpowers of plants and pollinators.

Common Ground Discussion
July 22
Join for The Cleveland Foundation’s Common Ground Discussion on the topic of “Supporting, Encouraging and Attracting Youth to Geauga County,” a conversation co-hosted by Geauga County Public Library, Geauga Growth Partnership, Kent State University Geauga and Leadership Geauga.
The collaborative discussion will endorse the objectives developed by local residents in “Five Years of Growing Common Ground: People, Place, and Shared Power.” Participants will discuss the impact of Geauga County’s aging population, explore ideas regarding how to attract young professionals to live and work in our community and assess how both parties can leverage the experience, expertise, knowledge of retired professionals in Geauga County.
The virtual discussion is July 22 from 8:30-10 a.m. The in-person event is July 22 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Holbrook Hollows. Registration begins at 5 p.m.
