Kindness Sewing Circle

Dec. 5, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

NPower Services hosts a Kindness Sewing Circle at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road in Chardon. The free monthly gathering is open to people of all abilities and provides a creative space for participants to craft fabric projects that benefit others in need.

Young of Heart

Dec. 5, 11 a.m.

Geauga Young of Heart’s annual Christmas Party for members only will be held at Manakiki Country Club in Willoughby Hills. The next meeting is Jan. 2.

The group will see a movie at the Aurora Atlas Movie Theater at 11 a.m. on Dec. 10.

First CCC Cookie Walk

Dec. 6, 9-11 a.m.

The 25th annual Cookie Walk will be held at First Congregational Church of Claridon, 13942 Mayfield Road. A wide assortment of homemade cookies will be offered at $10 per pound, boxes provided. The church is handicapped accessible.

Breakfast with the Clauses

Munson Township’s annual Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus takes place at the Munson Township Hall, 12210 Auburn Road. Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be served.

Sign-up forms may be downloaded at munsontwpoh.gov or picked up at the township office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Advance registration is required. For more information, call 440-286-9255.

Visit With Mrs. Claus

Dec. 7, 1-4 p.m.

The Chesterland Historical Village will host a visit with Mrs. Claus and her elves inside the restored 1842 Tanner House. Join for an afternoon of story time, a make-and-take craft, children writing letters to Santa and Mrs. Claus, music, hot chocolate, cookies and more. The holiday gift shoppe will be open for unique seasonal shopping.

Admission is free. The village is located at the corner of Caves and Mayfield roads in Chester Township.

Holiday Open House

Dec. 7, 4-7 p.m.

The Geauga Democratic Party will hold a holiday open house at party headquarters, 12420 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township. Community members are invited to drop in to enjoy food and fellowship. Refreshments and light bites will be provided. Guests are asked to bring a dessert to share.

VFW Wednesday Dinners

Dec. 10 and 17, 5-7 p.m.

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve penne pasta with meatball dinners at the canteen located at 752 Water St. The public is welcome. Call 440-285-3699 for carryout orders.

Winter Remembrance

Joy to the World Concert

Food Drive to Assist Geauga Families

The Geauga Democratic Party is collecting food and household items to support local families. Donations may be dropped off at party headquarters, 12420 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township, on Tuesdays from 5:30–8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Dec. 16.

Requested items include canned and boxed goods, instant or boxed milk, basic pantry staples, cleaning and laundry supplies, hygiene products and baby items such as diapers and formula. Donors are asked to check expiration dates. Monetary contributions are also welcome to help food banks purchase items most in need. All collected items will be distributed to local food banks.
