Home for the Holidays

Chardon Square Association’s Home for the Holidays on Chardon Square features an “It’s a Wonderful Life” theme inspired by the classic film. Families are invited to enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides around the square, crafts, letters to Santa and complimentary hot cocoa and cookies.

CWC Lake County Meets

Dec. 16, 5:45-8 p.m.

Join Christian Women’s Connection of Lake County for “A Christmas Cookie Story” with D is For Delicious owner Denise Hagan at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St.

Stonecroft speaker Jon Page will present “A Humanist…So What?” A lasagna dinner will be served.

Blue Christmas Service

Dec. 18, 4:30 p.m.

All are welcome to experience a quieter celebration of the season at Community Church of Chesterland, 11984 Caves Road.

Outreach Spaghetti Dinner

Dec. 18, 6-7 p.m.

Christ Presbyterian Church offers free drive-thru spaghetti and meatball dinners the third Thursday of each month. Salad and dessert are included. The church is located at 12419 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.

Joy to the World Concert

Dec. 18, 7 p.m.

Snowbelt Symphony Orchestra presents “Joy to the World” featuring vocalist Sarah Klein and conductor Greg Hillis at Lake Catholic High School. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students. Visit snowbeltmusical.org or call 440-296-9610.

VFW Christmas Party

Dec. 19, 6 p.m.

Chardon VFW Post 6519 is throwing its annual Christmas party. Pizza and wings will be provided. Bring a dish to share and a white elephant gift valued at under $15 for the exchange.

Food Drive to Assist Geauga Families

The Geauga Democratic Party is collecting food and household items to support local families. Donations may be dropped off at party headquarters, 12420 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township, on Tuesdays from 5:30–8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Dec. 16.

Requested items include canned and boxed goods, instant or boxed milk, basic pantry staples, cleaning and laundry supplies, hygiene products and baby items such as diapers and formula. Donors are asked to check expiration dates. Monetary contributions are also welcome to help food banks purchase items most in need. All collected items will be distributed to local food banks.
