A dual exhibit featuring works by two Ohio artists opens at The West Woods Nature Center with a reception on Nov. 22, from 1–3 p.m.
Marilyn C. Shaker showcases her Nature on Oil Canvas series, reflecting more than 40 years of painting experience.
J (Joan) Pogalies presents her Great Lake Erie eco-documentary photo art, dramatic metal photo montages that reimagine familiar lakeshore scenes in bold, unexpected ways.
The exhibit runs through Feb. 28 and may be viewed during regular Nature Center hours.
Give Thanks For Nature
Two free Thanksgiving weekend programs at The West Woods invite the community to get outdoors and stay active.
Hike Your Turkey Off features an eight-mile, steady-paced hike on Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., beginning at the Affelder House. The route includes scenic trails and a mid-hike break at the nature center.
On Nov. 29, from 2:30-4 p.m., Wildlife Detective Bingo offers a family-friendly nature twist on Bingo, using animal clues such as tracks and feathers to identify local wildlife and compete for prizes.
Both programs require registration.
