Worldwide Candle Lighting

Dec. 13

The Compassionate Friends World-wide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of all children who have died. Now in its 19th year, the mass candle lighting creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves across time zones.

A lighting will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of St. Francis Of Assisi School, 6850 Mayfield Road in Gates Mills. Bring a picture of one’s child to display at “Our Children Remembered” table. Call Scott Reichert, 216-409-6843, to RSVP.

The Prince of Peace Church, 93l9 Mayfield Road in Chester Township, will also host a night of remembrance beginning at 6:30 p.m. with registration and refreshments. Bring pictures, poems or other remembrances of one’s loved ones. The candle lighting and reading of the names will take place at 7 p.m. Individual prayer will be available following the service; contact Pastor Scott Honess, 440-669-6837, for early registration and questions.
