American Red Cross blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Eligible blood donors of all types are needed, especially those with O, AB, B negative and A negative

Blood Pressure Screenings

Lake Health will offer free blood pressure checks at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

2016 Immunization Clinics

The Geauga County General Health District offers free walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a primary insurance card. The following is a list of upcoming immunization clinics:

Middlefield, Feb. 10, St. Lucy Mission, 16280 Kinsman Road, 9-11:30 a.m.

Monthly Support Groups

Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness.

NAMI Crafters Group will meet Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at the annex office at 107 South St., Chardon. All are welcome.

Peer Support (for those with mental health issues) is held at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Geauga Independent Housing Unit, 13230 Aquilla Road, Chardon. The next meeting is Feb. 4.

Family Support (for those who have a loved one with an illness) meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Independent Housing Unit, 13230 Aquilla Road, Chardon. The next meeting is Feb. 11.

Middlefield Support (for those who have an illness or have a loved one with an illness) meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Independent Housing Unit, 13230 Aquilla Road, Chardon. The next meeting is Feb. 24.
