Blood Pressure Screenings

Lake Health will offer free blood pressure checks at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

2015 Immunization Clinics

The Geauga County General Health District offers free walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a primary insurance card.

Parents360 RX

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers will host Parents360 RX at 5:30 p.m. April 30 at TriPoint Medical Center, Physician Pavilion – Lubrizol Conference Room, 7580 Auburn Road in Concord.

The community education program increases an adult’s knowledge of prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse in teens and increases confidence in their ability to speak with teens about the subject. For more information, email Elaine Maro at emaro@lgrc.us.

Monthly Support Groups

Peer Support (for those with mental health issues) is held at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Geauga Independent Housing Unit, 13230 Aquilla Road, Chardon.

Family and Friend Support (for family members or friends who have a loved one with an illness) meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Geauga West Library, 13455 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.

Middlefield Support (both peers and family/friends meet together and then divide into focus groups) meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at Middlefield Library, 16167 E. High St.

Help For Mental Illness

Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness.

NAMI Basics is a six-session course of education and support for parents of children with mental or emotional issues. The free class will meet six consecutive Mondays, beginning April 13, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Middlefield Public Library, 16167 E. High St.
