Hello from Geauga County, Amish Country,
It’s the morning of July 2 and it feels like it will be another warm day, but, hey, it’s summer.
Leaving for Cashton, Wis., the morning of Tuesday, June 26 and coming home on June 30 were my sister Emma and Andy Weaver, of Jasper, N.Y., and niece Ellen and Levi Farmwald, also of Jasper, and I. We arrived at sister-in-law Malinda Hershberger around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. On Wednesday, there was a gathering of nieces and nephews at niece Ellen and Lester Mullet’s. Coming from Munfordville, Ky., were niece Ellen and Jake Miller. On Thursday and Friday, we went visiting more of the nieces and nephews. We left for home early Saturday morning, coming home at 2 p.m.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dan and Edna Yoder, with Edna being very sick with pneumonia, and also with Ellen Hershberger, who had a mini stroke on July 1. She was doing better Monday morning.
Brother-in-law Mel Yoder was diagnosed with lymphoma and is not feeling well. The family is taking turns to help out. Daughter Ada from Troutville, Pa., spent several days there and this week, son Owen and Ella plan to be there.
Planning to visit Mrs. Cindy Miller the evening of July 2 are Crist and Ada Yoder, Crist and Clara Hershberger, Richard and Sue Miller and I. Cindy lives in Southington.
There are still weddings going on. I have one more invitation here for July 5. I feel sorry for the ladies who have to cook. They are probably wishing it would cool off.
On July 14, I have plans to go with a busload of friends to the Columbus Zoo. Hopefully, it will not be quite as warm.
The evening of July 3 our singing group plans to visit Mrs. John (Mat) Miller on Gates Road. She lives there at her son Paul’s.
