Hello from Geauga County Amish Country
It was a beautiful morning on Aug. 6. It felt like the beginning of another warm day.

Our sympathy goes out to the Mel R. Byler family in the sudden passing of their dad, who died Aug. 3. His funeral was on Aug. 6.
The evening of July 26 and the day of July 27 we had a Miller family reunion at son Ray and Judy Miller’s on Shedd Road. Coming from Crossville, Tenn., were Joe’s brother Albert and Mary Ann and their married families. From Mio, Mich., were brother John and Esther and their son Ivan and family, their son Henry and special friend Marnita, and our daughter Betty and Melvin Byler. From Atlantic, Pa., were Chester and Clara Miller, plus many local families. Lots of visiting was done as well as singing, making more memories.
The morning of July 28, I went home with daughter Betty and Melvin, planning to stay until Aug. 4 when daughter Sylvia, Dan and children and Aden and Rosanna and family had plans to come up to Mio from Thursday until Saturday. But, plans changed when the call came that brother-in-law Mel Yoder died. So, on the morning of July 30, sister Sylvia and Albert, sister Liz Yoder and I left Mio and got to Mel’s in the afternoon. The funeral was on Aug. 1. Sister Liz spent the two nights with me. They all left for home on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday morning, I again went to Mio with daughter Sylvia and family, spending from Thursday afternoon to Saturday at noon at Melvin’s. The guys went canoeing and we ladies spent our time visiting. We arrived home Saturday evening around 7 p.m. It was a very enjoyable trip.
The wedding at neighbor Bill and Betty Byler’s of daughter Roseanne and David Ray, son of Daniel Ray and Amanda Raber, is on Aug. 9.
Summer is going by so fast. Before we know it, schools will be starting again. Mothers are busy with canning peaches, beans, tomatoes and more.
Spending a week in Cook Forrest from July 30 to Aug. 4 were Joe and Saloma Miller and two daughters and Richard and Sue Miller and family. They reported having a great time, except for Sue slipping on wet ground and hurting her shoulder. She needs to see a doctor and get it checked out. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious.
Chuckles
A lady gets on the scale when a voice says, “One at a time, please.”
A man rear-ended a car one morning, the start of a really bad day. The driver got out of the other car and he was a dwarf. He looked up at the guy and said, “I am not happy!”
So, the man said, “Well, which are you then?” And that’s how the fight started.
Fact
People who laugh heartily on a regular basis have lower standing blood pressure than the average person. When people have a good laugh, initially the blood pressure increases, but decreases to levels below normal. Breathing then becomes deeper, which sends oxygen-enriched blood and nutrients throughout the body. So, keep laughing.
You all have a good week.
