Hello From Geauga County, Amish Country
It was a nice fall morning on Sept. 24.
It was a nice fall morning on Sept. 24. It’s cooled off and feels good. I did turn the heat on a bit.
On the evening of Sept. 23, Perry, Katie Ann and David, Richard, Sue and family, Ray and Judy, Joe and Saloma, Danny Ray and Betty, all Millers, and Aden and Rosanna and children were at Dan and Sylvia’s for Dan’s birthday. We had ice cream cake and snacks. We sat around the campfire and the heat felt good.
Richard Sue had surgery on her shoulder, the results of a fall several weeks ago. She will be starting therapy soon.
The building for the Sunshine Training Center next to the D.D.C. Clinic collapsed from the storm last week. It was another setback, but hopefully folks will chip in and help get things rolling again.
Planning to be married on Oct. 4 are Richard Jr. Miller and Linda, daughter of Chester and Laura Kurtz. On Oct. 9, Aden Miller and Susanna, daughter of Chris and Cora Fisher, plan to be married. The two boys are both sons of Richard and Sue Miller and are my grandsons. So, hopefully daughter Betty and Melvin will be coming down from Mio, Mich., plus more relatives from there.
The evening of Sept. 17, Dan Sylvia, Joe Saloma, Ray Judy, Rich Sue, Perry Katie Ann, Danny Karen, Marlin Marcia, Wayne Edna Mae, John Mark Ruth Ann, Mark Sue and I were at Al and Mae Kauffman’s for a housewarming. They recently moved into their beautiful new house. After living in a small house with no bedrooms downstairs, they can now spread out.
The benefit auction the evening of Sept. 21 at the Middlefield Auction Barn for Wally and Linda Bricker was well attended. There was a fair-sized crowd and lots of nice items and the food was great.
There will be a benefit auction for the D.D.C. Clinic on Oct. 13. It is a Saturday and starts with a breakfast at 5:30 a.m. The auction starts at 9 a.m. There will be train rides and games for the children. All are welcome to come and spend the day.
Chuckles
A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day – 30,000 compared to a man’s 15,000.
The wife replied, “The reason has to be because a woman has to say everything twice.”
The husband turned to her and said, “What?”
“Cash, check or charge?” the clerk asked the customer.
As the woman fumbled for her wallet, the clerk noticed a remote control for a television in her purse.
“So, do you always carry your TV remote in your purse?” the clerk asked.
“No,” the woman replied. “But my husband refused to come shopping with me, so I figured this was the best legal thing I could do to get even with him.”
Man standing at the card section says to the clerk, “I need a card that says, ‘Sorry, I used your new bathrobe to wax the car.’”
You all have a good day.
