The Foreigner Opens March 8

In Larry Shue’s The Foreigner, which opens at Geauga Theater on March 8 and is directed by Jack Warren, a hilarious situation ensues when a visitor from Great Britain and his friend stay at a rural Georgia fishing lodge. The friend is so shy that he pretends not to understand English. The other lodge guests take advantage of this shortcoming to discuss many scandalous and private goings-on at the lodge.

Larry Shue was an actor as well as a writer, and is best known for his often performed comedies The Nerd and The Foreigner. In September 1985. he died at age 39 in a commuter plane crash, just prior to being in his first large Broadway role in The Mystery of Edwin Drood.

The show runs March 8-24. Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 8 p.m. There will be two Sunday matinees March 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. All tickets are $12.

Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. in Chardon. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.geaugatheater.org or call the box office at 440-286-2255.
