Government

Trustee meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the town hall.

All township meetings are opened to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.

Call 440-636-5486 for more information. The next trustees meeting is June 17.

State Sen. Capri S. Cafaro will hold a legislative update on June 23 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Huntsburg Community Center located at 12406 Madison Road.

Zoning

Zoning Inspector Frank S. Corrao reminds all residents to obtain a zoning permit prior to making any construction changes of any kind. He may be reached at 440-636-5486 ext. 3. Leave a message; he will return your call.

The zoning office receives many complaints this time of year about debris blowing off properties onto neighboring properties. Now is the time to clean up unwanted items on one’s property.

Tire Recycling Drop Off

Tire recycling will be held for Huntsburg Township residents only.

The Passenger Car Tire Drop-Off will be held June 14, from 8-9 a.m. only, at the township recreational park, 17085 Mayfield Road.

Tires may be on or off the rims, but must be dirt and mud free. No exceptions.

Grant funding provided by Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District.

Rentals

Huntsburg offers several rental opportunities for family get-togethers. There are three outdoor pavilions suitable for family reunions, birthday parties and barbecues. Two are located at the recreational park at 17085 Mayfield Road and the other in Memorial Park located at the town center. The pavilions rent for $20 per day.

The town hall and community center are also available. The community center can accommodate 160-plus and is air conditioned. While there is no kitchen available, it does have sinks and a refrigerator. Rental fees vary with the use and number of guest; rentals are $100 to $200 for residents.

The town hall is for a smaller group of 80 or less and has a full commercial kitchen the rental fee is $50 for summer months.

The Huntsburg gym has undergone a renovation and can be rented for basketball or volleyball use. The cost for a two-hour rental is $40.

All buildings are now handicapped accessible.

Recycle

Bring all unwanted phone books, newspapers, school and office papers, magazines, paperback books and junk mail to the recycle bin at Huntsburg Recreation Park.

Huntsburg is working hard to be environmentally friendly. The recycling bin is for the whole community to use. The township even earns money for the paper it collects. This way, residents can support the town and not have to reach into their pockets.

The recycling facility accepts cardboard. Shredded paper is accepted in clear plastic bags. Please put a small hole in the bag to allow air to escape, but not the paper.

Thanks so much for recycling. Please keep the recycling center clean.
