Long-Range Planning Initiated
The West Geauga Local School District, having received an Excellent With Distinction rating by the Ohio Department of Education, is continuing to generate improvement strategies to further move the district into the future. The district’s objective is to be in the top 5 percent of Ohio School Districts Performance Index Rankings within the next five years.
On April 20, 60 volunteers comprised of faculty, staff, administration, alumni, parents, students and community members met to begin work on the process of long-range planning. Participants were divided into four committees consisting of: Achievement, Communication and Collaboration, Facilities and Finance.
Additional meetings have been scheduled to continue committee work that will be integral in defining the district’s long-range plan. Strategies, objectives, cost-benefit analyses and work plans will then be presented to an executive committee, subsequently to the superintendent and ultimately to the board of education.
Working in partnership, the West Geauga Local School District and the community are proactively preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s world.
