New WGHS Principal Named
The West Geauga Local School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Jay Bishop will return to West Geauga High School as the new principal beginning in the 2013-14 school year. Mr. Bishop has been the assistant principal for four years and will now take on the leadership role previously held by Mr. David Toth who has accepted the position of superintendent at Crestwood Schools in Portage County.
As West Geauga continues the work of educating high school learners and preparing them for college and career readiness, Mr. Bishop’s expertise and passion for education will support the district’s goals for teaching, learning and improved student achievement. He brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the district and to the community which will serve its students well.
“I am excited to be leading a building that I have been a part of for 18 years. This is a wonderful community where all staff, students and parents value education. I come into the position with high expectations that West Geauga High School will be one of the best high schools in the state,” he commented.
