Ladies Only
Every woman needs a break once in a while to recharge, relax in the sunshine, get creative, enjoy nature and eat some good food with other women. Let Geauga Park District provide the perfect opportunity this summer.
Nature Break: Women’s Retreat is Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bass Lake Preserve, Lodge, 11445 Lakeview Drive in Munson Township.
The morning will begin with coffee and morning snacks. Retreat time includes canoeing (instruction and all equipment provided), yoga with certified instructor Cassandra Shofar of Luna Sidera Yoga & Wellness (bring a mat) and impressive art projects to make and take home using upscale recycled materials.
Participants may also choose to have some of their own time to relax by simply sitting near the lake and enjoying the view (binoculars provided).
Zeppe’s of Chardon will then provide a delicious lunch.
Registration and a fee of $6 are required.
Dragonfly Bike and Hike
Bring a bike and enjoy a leisurely ride to Claridon-Troy Road, where the group will then explore, on foot, preserved property bordering the trail and search for dragonflies and damselflies.
Dragonfly Bike and Hike is Aug. 9 from 1-4 p.m. at Headwaters Park, 13365 Old State Road in Huntsburg Township.
Registration is not required for the 10-mile round trip. Please wear sturdy shoes and long pants, and no flip flops. Nets will be provided. Optional things to bring include water, camera, binoculars and sunscreen.
Once exploration has begun, participants may return to Headwaters Park at their own pace.
