Family Ice Age Escapades
Dec. 27, 1-4 p.m.
All year long, Geauga Park District has been connecting park visitors to the Ice Age in conjunction with Return to the Ice Age, the special exhibit at The West Woods featuring real Ice Age-era bones found in Geauga County. But when the exhibit goes the way of the Ice Age after Dec. 31, so will that programming at least for a while.
Ice Age-themed activities include: a genuine “Gifts of the Glacier” pebble collection, a barter game emphasizing materials important to Paleoindian life, the use of ink stamps to make an Ice Age animal scene, a heads-and-tails Ice Age animal matching game, a miniature-scale mammoth excavation, a special appearance by the giant Harry the Mammoth puppet and cool prizes for children while supplies last.
Registration is not required. The West Woods is located at 9465 Kinsman Road in Russell Township.
