Tune Traders: New & Improved
A revamped format has breathed new life into the Maple Town Tune Traders, a program for singers and musicians that recurs the fourth Thursday of each month from 7-10 p.m. at The West Woods Nature Center in Russell Township.
When they arrive, participants now sign up for one of six 15-minute informal performance spots, which is then followed by a brief intermission, then a round-robin jam session.
Spring Tune Traders sessions are Thursdays, April 24, May 22 and June 26. All musical genres on acoustic or gently amplified instruments are welcome, as well as snacks to share with the group.
Registration is not required to attend to either perform or listen; performance spots are first come, first served.
For more information, contact Dan at 440-279-0883.
Grandparents In The Park
Geauga Park District is offering an opportunity for grandparents to explore springtime with their grandchildren.
Grandparents in the Park: Spring Break takes place April 21 from 10-11:30 a.m. at The Rookery, Great Blue Heron Lodge, 10110 Cedar Road in Munson Township.
Since 2004, Geauga Park District has offered special programming during all major school breaks, providing great incentive to get out into the parks. This program will deliver refreshments, crafts and nature games indoors, as well as fun with Nora the Explorer searching for items on an outdoor scavenger hunt.
Registration is required. Participants are asked to bring a snack to share with the group. Activities will be held rain or shine.
