Power of the Pen
The Notre Dame Elementary School’s Power of the Pen team traveled to Chardon Middle School on Feb. 2 where 16 schools competed at the district level.
In addition to the team competition, students are scored as individuals. Approximately 90 seventh-graders competed in the competition. Daniel Bosworth earned an eighth place medal and Hailey Oppenlander achieved the first place trophy.
Patrick Moorman, Chris Calkins, Daniel Bosworth, Hailey Oppenlander, Jackie Clinger and Briana Cowman will be advancing to the Hudson Regionals.
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss
In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Notre Dame Elementary preschool students spent the last two weeks reading. Parents recorded the books read at home on red and white strips of paper. The children brought these papers to school to represent the stripes on the Cat-In-The-Hat’s hat. The “hat” has well over 300 stripes … and is still growing.
