Register For Fall Clean-Up Days
Senior citizens 60 years of age or older who own their homes in Geauga County and need assistance with fall yard cleanup should call the Department on Aging by Oct. 12. The Department on Aging works with local volunteers to help clean up the yards.
To be on the fall cleanup list, one must be registered with Geauga County Department on Aging. No rental properties, please.

Flu Clinics The Geauga County Health Department will conduct flu clinics Oct. 8 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and Oct. 21 from 12:30-2:30pm. Appointments are not necessary. Bring medical insurance card.
Age on Stage: Oct. 8, 12:45 p.m. The senior centers theatre group will perform.
Podiatrist Appointments: Call 440-279-2131 to schedule a 1 p.m. appointment Oct. 9 with Dr. Quercioli or Oct. 24 with Dr. Ritz.

Diabetes Support Group: Oct. 8, 12:30 p.m. Led by Care Corp. Guest speaker will be a dietician from Lake Health and Wellness. The discussion will be on the importance of how to read and understand labels.
Senior Health Talk: Oct. 9, 11:30 a.m. Health Quest will present a free talk on senior health issues.

Rescue Village: Oct. 3. The group will get a personal tour and listen to a speaker about the inner workings of Rescue Village. The group will meet there at 10:45 a.m. and go out to lunch immediately following.

Breakfast and Speaker Series: Oct. 11. Breakfast served at 9 a.m. UH Geauga nurse Julie Bogden will be speaking on staying active and avoiding depression at 9:15 a.m. Depression screenings will be available immediately following.

Generations of Fun
An intergenerational event for all ages will be held Oct. 18, NEOEA Day. West Geauga Senior Center is sponsoring a pancake breakfast and family fun festival.
The day starts with a pancake breakfast at the senior center from 9 a.m. to noon. Breakfast includes games, crafts, face painting and outdoor activities.
Afterwards, visit the Patterson Fun Fest on Mulberry Road.
Tickets are $7 for children 3 to 11 and $10 for youth 12 years and older. Great-grandparents and children under 2 are free.

Better Choices, Better Health
Better Choices, Better Health runs Oct. 15 through Nov. 19 from 1-3 p.m. at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive. The evidenced based program developed by Stanford University helps adults manage the symptoms of chronic disease such as arthritis, asthma, diabetes, lung disease, heart disease, stroke, Parkinsons and high blood pressure.
