To register for trash pickup, one must be 60 years of age or older, live in the community holding the trash pickup and be registered with Geauga County Department of Aging. The Department on Aging and the road crew will pick up refuse from registered seniors who need assistance.

No liquids, paint, antifreeze, motor oil or other hazardous materials, construction debris, rocks, brush, leaves, grass clippings, yard waste, tree trunks or household garbage will be accepted.

All material should be consolidated in strong boxes and items should be kept dry and covered with a tarp if possible. Only 10 household items per home and the trash should be from the registered senior’s household only and clearly marked.

Seniors must be registered with the Department on Aging prior to pickup. For more information and to register, call the Department on Aging at 440-279-2129, 440-279-2135 or 440-279-2130 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Appliances with Freon removed will be accepted. Items must be left outside the garage, not curbside. When registering, please indicate if assistance is needed removing items from the home.

City of Chardon

June 17-18

Universal Disposal will be picking up items curbside on June 20.

Appliances with Freon will be collected. Doors must be removed from refrigerators and freezers.

Small items must be bagged, boxed or bundled no loose materials will be collected. Lumber must be bundled and tied in lengths less than 3 feet, and metal pipes shall be no longer than 4 feet.

No car parts, fuel tanks or whole motor vehicles will be collected.
