Diabetes Support Group

Feb. 17, 2 p.m.

Geauga County residents age 60 and older are invited to attend a diabetes support group focused on counting carbohydrates and understanding “good” versus “bad” carbs. The program will be held at the Chardon Senior Center, 470 Center St., Building 8.

Dietitian Stefanie Jarrett, clinical nutrition manager at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, will discuss how carbohydrates affect diabetes management, including how to count carbs and determine appropriate amounts at each meal.

Breathing and Physical Fitness

Feb. 26, 1–2:30 p.m.

Geauga County residents age 60 and older are invited to attend a program on breathing and physical fitness at UH Geauga Medical Center, 13207 Ravenna Road, Chardon, Conference Center, lower level.

Representatives from UH Geauga Medical Center and the Geauga County Department on Aging will present information on breathing techniques and exercises designed to support lung health, along with tips for staying healthy during the winter months.
