Russell Senior Trash Pickup

Russell Township Trustees are joining the Geauga County Department on Aging to offer senior trash pickup days to township seniors ages 60 and older.
Seniors who wish to receive trash pickup assistance must first register with the department on aging and complete the trash pickup intake by Sept. 1 or earlier.
Road crew and department on aging staff cannot enter homes. Items must be placed outside by the garage or driveway on Sept. 8, the evening before the pickup. Do not leave items curbside.
There is a limit of 10 items per household.

Senior Technology Fair
Geauga County seniors attended the annual Senior Technology Fair at Berkshire High School on Aug. 14. Students, staff and volunteers provided one-on-one assistance with smartphones, tablets, apps and other technology.
The event also featured presentations on scams, fraud and cybersecurity. Kendra Yurgionas of the Geauga County Prosecutor’s Office and Lt. Jim Jonovich of the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office discussed ways to recognize and avoid scams and cybercrime. Zach McLeod of the Department of Research and Cybersecurity offered tips for safely using email, social media, websites and online shopping.
