Boxing with Parkinson’s
Geauga County Department on Aging is offering a new fitness class to seniors diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease whose symptoms are mild and not disabling. The newly forming class will provide non-contact boxing style fitness programs specifically designed to delay the progression of symptoms.
The instructors and participants will be working on improving strength, speed, balance and flexibility thru a variety of exercises and core conditioning. The focus will be on improving overall fitness levels, maintaining a strong healthy body and working on postural imbalances and increasing core strength.
Classes will begin in March and class location will be determined by the number of interested seniors.
For information or to receive a new member packet, call Sandy McLeod at 440-279-2137.
