The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will hold its meeting and annual spaghetti lunch on May 12 at 1 p.m. at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge Township. Cost is $5. Reservations are required; call Betty Scholz at 440-338-8321.

Upcoming bus trips include a trip to Presque It’sle Casino on May 27 for a cost of $27, with a return of $35 in slot play; and a trip to River’s Casino in Pittsburgh, Pa., for a cost of $29 with a return of $20 in slot play. Contact Skip or Marge at 440-338-3607 if interested.

Food and paper products will be collected for the Food For Friends food pantry as well as donations to the Geauga County Dog Shelter, which needs dog food, leashes, old blankets, towels and monetary donations for veterinary bills.

Register for South Russell Senior Trash Pickup

South Russell Village officials are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the 2015 South Russell Senior Trash Pick-Up Days April 29 (west of Route 306) and April 30 (east of Route 306).

To register for trash pickup, one must be 60 years of age or older, live in South Russell Village and be registered with Geauga County Department of Aging. The South Russell Service Department and the Department on Aging will pick up refuse from the senior’s home and take it to the village dumpsters.

No liquids, paint, or other hazardous materials, construction debris, rocks, yard waste or household garbage will be accepted. A maximum of four tires off the rim and appliances and miscellaneous items will be accepted. All material should be consolidated in strong boxes and items should be kept dry and covered with a tarp if possible.

Only 10 household items per home and the trash should be from the registered senior’s household only. Items must be left outside of garage or home. Do not leave items curbside.

The senior, or someone 18 years or older that is appointed by the senior, must be home on the day of the pickup and sign a release for the items that will be picked up.

Register For Claridon Twp. Senior Trash Pickup

Claridon Township Trustees are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the Claridon Township Senior Trash Pick-Up Day May 7.

To register for trash pickup, one must be 60 years of age or older and live in Claridon Township. The township road crew and the Department on Aging will pick up refuse from registered seniors who need assistance and take it to the township dumpster.

No liquids, paint or other hazardous materials, construction debris, rocks, yard waste or household garbage will be accepted. A maximum of four tires off the rim, propane tanks, appliances and other unwanted items will be accepted.

Only 10 household items per home and the trash should be from the registered senior’s household only. Items must be left outside the garage, not curbside.

Seniors must be registered with the Department on Aging prior to pickup.
