Cleanup Days Volunteers Needed
The Geauga County Department on Aging is in need of volunteers from all over the county to help during the 2015 Geauga Spring Cleanup Days for seniors. The event runs throughout May and June.
Many seniors can no longer rake their yards or flowerbeds, weed, clean up yard debris or wash windows. This is where volunteers can make a difference. By volunteering just a few hours of time, one can help a senior citizen remain independent and allow them to live in a safe, clean environment.
Volunteers will generally be assigned close to their homes to make the most of their volunteer time. Some volunteers, however, may choose another area in which they would like to work.
Individuals or groups who can help during the spring Clean Up Geauga Days are asked to contact Sherri Davis at 440-279-2129 or Bob Debevits, home safety and chore coordinator, at 440-279-2130, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
