Pancake Breakfast

Sept. 1, 9-10 a.m.

A pancake breakfast will be held for Geauga seniors in the outdoor pavilion at the Chardon Senior Center. Enjoy pan-cakes, sausage, hot coffee, tea and juice.

Breakfast is free, however, donations are welcome. Call the senior center at 440-279-2130 by the end of day Aug. 28 to sign up. Messages may be left.

Seniors are invited to stay for senior center site meeting from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the dining room. Bring any suggestions, interests, ideas, likes and dislikes about the center to help with planning future events.

Senior Flu Shot Schedule

Flu shots will be offered at all four Geauga County Department on Aging Senior Center locations through the Geauga Health Department.

West Geauga Senior Center, Sept. 24, 9-11 a.m., 440-729-2782.

Chagrin Falls Senior Center, Sept. 24, 1-2:30 p.m., 440-247-8510.

Chardon Senior Center, Sept. 28, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 440-279-2130.

Call the local senior center to set a time and a vaccine will be waiting. Bring insurance card. Cost of flu shot is $35, or $50 for high dose vaccine if paying in cash. Most insurance plans are accepted.

Flu shots are given by Geauga County Health Department; seniors may also preregister by calling 440-279-1950.

Fridays With Maplewood

Understanding Dementia

Sept. 30, 6 p.m.

Arden Courts Alzheimer’s Assisted Living and the Geauga County Department on Aging will present Walking the Path of Dementia at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Raven-wood Drive in Chardon.

The program will better help seniors understand and experience what it is like to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
