Shrek Teen Workshop
Has anyone dreamed of being a princess, a talking donkey or ogre? Teens, ages 13 to 18, who would like to participate in the Geauga Lyric Theater Guilds summer production of Shrek the Musical, are encouraged to sign up for a fun workshop. The workshop will begin June 3 and culminate in three performances: July 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and July 20 at 2 p.m.
This popular production follows the trials of Shrek, an ogre, as he seeks to win the hand of a slightly ill-tempered princess, Fiona. Add in a lovesick dragon and a band of unlikely storybook characters and comedy begins.
Teens will find challenge, learning and new friendships. Through a blend of educational and youth theater, students will learn the craft of performing on stage. There will be many opportunities to explore other areas of theater that happen behind the scenes, such as make-up, costuming, stage management and design elements.
Information, registration and pricing is available online at www.geaugatheater.org or by calling the business office at 440-285-7701. Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. in Chardon.
