Urban Growers Greenhouse and Garden Center is celebrating 20 years in business and attributes its success to the ongoing support of family and loyal customers. John Urbanowicz, owner of Urban Growers, also realizes that to keep customers coming back, he must keep adapting and growing in today’s ever-changing environment.
Both the greenhouse and garden center have been sharing the same location at its state Route 700 facility in Burton for years, but Urbanowicz decided that it’s time for a change. The garden center has moved to a new, more convenient location at 14800 State Route 87 between Burton Township and Middlefield Village, under the management of new recruit, Holly Soltis.
“Holly is bringing in a great energy and a lot of really creative ideas. With her help, we’re creating a more personal, garden center experience for our customers” said office manager Evelyn Glova.
With the strategic move, Urbanowicz can focus on the expanded wholesale growing division.
“By expanding to our new retail location, we’re able to open up more space in the wholesale building so that we can grow more plant material and offer it to our customers at a lower cost. In turn, our goal is to create a garden center that offers all you need to have the best shopping experience, where we can offer great gift items, and the highest quality plants in the area at affordable prices,” Urbanowicz said.
Urban Growers also offer planters, pottery, gardening supplies, fertilizers and many other gardening essentials and provides quality, custom planting services to its customers. The retailer is going to carry an expanded line of quality trees and shrubs and offer a delivery service to add even more convenience.
Urban Growers’ new garden center is now open and offers a wide variety of items for the holidays.
