Wanted: Graduates from Cardinal Schools
March 5, 2015 by Staff Report

The CAA is for all graduates from Middlefield, Huntsburg, Parkman and Cardinal high schools who have graduated at least five years ago.

If you are a graduate of Cardinal Schools, the Cardinal Alumni Association is looking for you.

Last summer, a small group of alumni spanning four decades — Abby Zion Fishel, class of 1984, Merry Lou Knuckles, class of 1982, Robin Pilarczyk, class of 1971, Katie Thomas, class of 1966, Shanna Miller, class of 1991, Terri Fisher, class of 1971, and Phylliss Gedeon, class of 1964 — got together and started the ground work to build the Cardinal Alumni Association.

The CAA is for all graduates from Middlefield, Huntsburg, Parkman and Cardinal high schools who have graduated at least five years ago.

The ground work is done and an alumni drive is underway. Here’s what you can do to help:

• Send your class list and current addresses to Shanna Miller at shannabear14@yahoo.com.

• Sign up as a member; the basic membership is only $20. Membership information is on the district website, www.cardinalschools.org, under the “Alumni” tab on the left-hand side.

Alumni Association Scholarship

The CAA is awarding an alumni association scholarship to a graduating senior whose parent(s) have graduated from Cardinal.

The application is on the district website and the deadline is April 10.

The first scholarship will be presented at the senior awards night in May.

The CAA also is planning a golf outing in June at Grandview Golf Course. Details and registration will be on the website shortly. Money from the event will be used for future scholarships and alumni events.

Grand Reunion July 25

The CAA is planning a grand reunion for July 25.

This reunion is for all graduates — members or not — to meet for a night of fellowship and a brief association meeting, according to the CAA news release.

“We will need to nominate and vote for association officers to replace the current interim officers and plan our events for the next year,” the news release said.

“We are currently shopping locations with a buffet dinner in a casual, semiformal setting,” the CAA said. “But we need names and addresses to make this work. Help us to make the first grand reunion a real success.”

Those with questions or wishing to help out should contact Abby Fishel, afishel@aol.com, or Merry Lou Knuckles, mlou6382@yahoo.com.

The CAA will have an informational table at the Cardinal-Berkshire alumni basketball game on March 21 at Cardinal High School.
