We are still having beautiful weather, but I am ready for some snow.

We were visitors at church at Philip and Martha Millers on Rockwood Drive near Windsor on Dec. 17, along with grandpa John, Crist and Clara, John and Ida Mae Hershberger and three children and Abner and Mary Miller. Our grandsons Jason and Aden Miller also went along with us.

Mrs. Joe Katherine Byler of Parks West Road had major surgery last week, so she will be on easy street for awhile. Suppose she will be busy making cards as soon as she feels able. She recycles cards making more beautiful cards.

Mrs. Wayne Detweiler is also still not doing the best. Has an appointment with another doctor to get a second opinion. This is Joe Katherines daughter. We missed her in church on Monday.

Joe Kauffman of Hosmer Road is still in the hospital. He had a blood clot on his lung plus a heart condition. We wish him better days ahead.

Relatives returned home Tuesday at 6 a.m. from attending the funeral of Mrs. Reuben Kuhns in Granton, Wis. She died of cancer and her funeral was Dec. 15. Matilda was the daughter of Eli and Anna Miller of Hayes Road. Reuben is the son of Manas and Irene Kuhns of Grove Road. The family has our sympathy. I am sure it will be a sad Christmas without their mother.

Many children are sick with fever and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Our great-granddaughter Maureen spent five days in Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital last week.

Born to Allen and Mae Kauffman a daughter Martha Mae the evening of Dec. 10. Grandparents are Joe and Sara Kauffman and Joe and Saloma Miller. She is also our great-granddaughter. Two little brothers welcomed her home.

We are sorry to hear Jacob Miller, special son of the late Jake and Lizzie Miller, is not well. His sister Esther so faithfully takes care of him. He is in a hospital bed and a nurse comes out to check on him also. Their address is 18081 Jug Road, Hiram, OH 44234. I am sure mail would be very welcome.

It was snowing a little on Tuesday morning, but it has quit. It looks like another dreary day. Its a good day to finish wrapping Christmas gifts.

On Monday afternoon, grandpa John, Emma Byler, Joe and I visited Jacob Miller and found him a little more alert. He has lots of fluid buildup. Harvey Byler was also there, and Jacobs sister Katie is helping out.

Our family Christmas gathering is planned to be at son Perrys on Christmas Day. We will miss daughter Betty and family. They are busy getting things set up to open a furniture and dry goods store. They hope to open up by Jan. 4. Melvin will also continue to make cabinets. We hope to go up to visit them in Mio, Mich., in January sometime.

Thought for the Day

We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

May your life be like arithmetic; joys added, sorrow subtracted, fears divided and happiness multiplied.

You all have a good week.

Merry Christmas to all and a happy New Year.
