Wake Up Geauga County Parents
A recent article, “Leu Offers Diversity…,” is very concerning to me and it should concern every parent with children at Kent State and every person that believes in the Constitution principles that have made America great.
The article demonstrates the intellectual laziness and/or lack of critical thinking skills that is common in our media today. There is no exploration of “equality” versus “equity.”
In the article, Ms. Leu was promoting concepts that are very corrosive and harmful. Why? “Equity” is NOT an American value. It is based on Marxist ideology and students of history know that socialism and Marxism always lead to the destruction of societies.
Equity seeks “fairness of outcomes,” an almost impossible pipe dream because success depends on human structures to establish what is “fair.” This collectivist viewpoint is seldom fair, and outcomes are rarely what are predicted. How do you define fair? Have you ever seen government create “fair” outcomes?
In contrast to “equality,” as defined in the Constitution, which provides a mechanism for individuals to seek outcomes that satisfy their dreams. In this system, we have seen time and again how people are able to rise above their condition to find greatness. Dr. Ben Carson is a perfect example.
In 1971, I entered the Air Force and signed two oaths — one to defend the U.S. Constitution and the second to affirm I was not a communist and that I would defend this country against communism. Shortly after, I was in the Vietnam theater (Thailand) battling communist.
It is shocking to me that in America we now have socialist, communist and Marxist in our government. What is most concerning is that our universities teach and promote these Marxist ideas with little resistance from an uninformed public. This will have long term harmful impacts on this nation.
In the 1990s, I did business in Communist China, broader Asia, South America and Mexico. I had the opportunity to experience the evil of Chinese communist firsthand, the impacts of socialism in Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, etc. During these experiences, I saw the lack of personal freedom and how corrupt governments impact the peoples of these nations. Those I met shared their insights and experiences about living under the tyranny. It was eye opening.
My life experiences and study of history have shaped my knowledge about these complicated ideologies and firmed up my total conviction that Marxism/Socialism/Communism are evil and should be battled with all our strength.
When I heard the lesson from Ms. Leu, I decided to write this wake up call. There is not enough space in an editorial to say all that needs to be said, but let me say this: Look to history. When was this country great? When we lived the constitutional principles of liberty and free enterprise. When did we start to decline? When we allowed a corrupt educational system and liberal political party to lead us in down a path that divides us.
Please stand up and get informed.
