Walder Has Experience, Financial Acumen
Please join me in supporting Chuck Walder by voting to retain him as Geauga County Auditor in the May 3 primary election.
As a successful entrepreneur, Chuck uses his business experience and financial acumen each day for the benefit of the residents of Geauga County.
When a vacancy occurred in the office of Fiscal Officer of Russell Township, the Board of Trustees interviewed several qualified candidates for the position. Chuck’s grasp of accounting and financial matters in general let him stand out from the other candidates and he was unanimously approved by the Trustees. Once in office, Chuck scrutinized the budget and asked probing questions about the status quo. He was never satisfied with the response “well that’s the way it has always been done.”
Chuck was instrumental in rationalizing the finances of Russell Township and is doing the same for Geauga County.

Civil Public Discourse Needed
I have a few comments regarding the printed Paid Advertisement by Mr. Preston, March 17. Since not everyone can afford a paid advertisement, I think a Letter to the Editor is appropriate.
I thank Mr. Preston for his time and work on the Geauga Park Board, but hope he realizes that if he wants to understand the concerns of the citizens of the county, public comment should be allowed at the Park Board meetings. Civil public discourse might resolve a lot of issues.

Positive Effect on Environment
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the supporters of Protect Geauga Parks. It is because of their support and generosity that we can provide three Protect Geauga Parks Bob McCullough Memorial Conservation scholarships of $1,000 each to high school seniors who wish to pursue careers that will have a positive effect on the environment.
In past years, we have been able to grant scholarships to many wonderful students. We look forward to doing the same again this year. We hope high school graduating seniors will apply for the scholarship and we encourage teachers and staff to alert students about this opportunity.
Also, if you are a parent, relative or a friend, please help the student(s) by directing them to apply at our website protectgeaugaparks.us or contact me at info.protectgeaugaparks@gmail.com.
Finally, I send appreciation to our supporters who share the belief that we must preserve, conserve and protect our natural resources, both by education and by advocacy.
Thank you.
