Best Bargain on Ballot
There is a tiny renewal levy for Chester Commons in November; it’s the best bargain on the ballo
Have you been to Chester Commons lately? Well-maintained sports fields are homes for soccer, lacrosse and baseball. And for us old folks, it has scenic dog walking trails along the river. It is our pup’s favorite hike.
The Commons’ Volunteer Trustees keep the place neat and clean and ready for the next game.
And, they’re very frugal, with a fraction of a mil working hard for all of us. And being a renewal, there is no increase in our itse-bitse contribution.
Please support the Chester Commons levy, and bring your little buddy to see a great soccer game this fall.

Marijuana is Not Harmless
We now know that fentanyl from China is being laced into marijuana. The buyer does not know this. Fentanyl is often fatal.
Please educate your children (of ALL ages) and your friends: MARIJUANA IS NOT HARMLESS.

‘Yes’ for Chardon Schools
We are writing to express our support for the Chardon Local Schools Operating Levy (Issue 26) on the ballot Nov. 7.
We are Chardon alumni ourselves and are proud to live in this great community with our three young children.
We believe the Chardon Schools were good to us when we attended, thanks to community financial support, and feel strongly it is our duty and obligation to continue that financial support ourselves for today’s students. This is especially important as the Chardon Schools face drastic million dollar annual reductions in state financial support in the coming years.
Our district was recently ranked as one of Northeast Ohio’s top 20 performing districts on the 2017 State Report Card; it ranked in the top 60 for schools statewide! We cannot let this valuable asset slip away, not for our kids’ sake, nor for our property values.
And, Chardon Schools reach these high achievements with one of the lower per pupil expenditure rates in area.
So, great results at low costs and facing monumental state aid cuts. Please join us in voting “yes” for our schools.
