Awesome Team

I want to publicly thank outgoing Magistrate David Lubecky for his 30 years of exemplary service to the Geauga Juvenile/Probate Court and the people of Geauga County.

David has always been a behind the scenes kind of guy. For many years, under my late husband Judge Chip Henry, David filled two positions: he was the court administrator and the only magistrate handling juvenile traffic cases.

My husband always said that the smartest decision he made when he was first appointed to the bench was to hire David Lubecky.

David has never wanted the big spotlight, preferring to do his job quietly and efficiently. They were an awesome team and ran the juvenile/probate court for many years without drama or self-promotion.

On behalf of my family and me, thank you David Lubecky for your service to our community!

Homeschooling

Kelly Misch’s article, “At Home in the Classroom” (Geauga County Maple Leaf, Dec. 7, 2017), was well written and it is the most comprehensive article that I have ever read on the subject of homeschooling.

Homeschooling is a great benefit to our children, their families, our society and the nation. These children benefit from their close family relationships, their relationship with God, while they are learning 24/7. It is a lot of work, done with great love!

I applaud all homeschooling families.
