Fix the Parking Lot
Open letter to the owners of the strip mall at the southwest corner of state routes 87 and 608 in Middlefield:
I respectfully request the owners of the property located on the southwest corner of state routes 87 and 608 in Middlefield repair the deteriorating condition(s) of the parking lot and sidewalk.
I do so at the request of the many who use this property to access Cinda’s Restaurant, Circle K, Shetler’s and all the shops located there.
Not only is your property an eyesore (bent and cracked poles) but also includes many dangers to all.
There are many elderly and handicapped people that use these facilities daily. I myself have nearly fallen due to the large potholes and uneven pavement. If not repaired, these conditions will, without doubt, cause serious injury.
I also respectfully request that a small curb be installed in front of each store front. Just last week I was nearly hit by a pickup truck that didn’t realize his front tires were already on the sidewalk that I was walking on. A most dangerous situation that can be easily be averted with the simplest of measures.
A small amount of common sense goes a long way.
In many circumstances the most pragmatic approach is the best way to solve a problem at hand. I suggest you ask each of your tenants and some of their clients/ customers what needs to be accomplished to make this a safer area for all.
