Absentee Ballots Available Soon

Absentee ballots will be available beginning Oct. 12 for the Nov. 8 general election. Voters who wish to vote an absentee ballot may submit a request to the Geauga County Board of Elections, 470 Center St., Bldg. 6-A, Chardon OH 44024 or call 440-279-2030.

Absentee applications may be requested by calling the above number or by going to the Geauga County Board of Election’s website http://www.co.geauga.oh.us/Departments/BOE/Important-Voter-Information and downloading an application, filling it out, signing and mailing it to the board of elections.

Voters can get a blank application by clicking on the Absentee tab. If they go to Voter Information, and use the voter look-up tab, the application will be pre-populated with the voter’s name and address. Applications are also available at your local library.

The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot to be mailed is noon Nov. 5, 2016. All voted absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 7, 2016 or hand delivered to the office by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8, 2016.

Be a Part of the Democratic Process

The Geauga County Board of Elections would like to invite Geauga County residents to be Precinct Election Officials.

It is an opportunity to have a front row seat as to how Ohio elections are run, maybe even re-connect with neighbors and friends. This year will be especially exciting, being a part of the process to elect the next president of the United States.

To be a Precinct Election Official, you must be a U.S. citizen and registered to vote. Even high school seniors can be a Precinct Election Official. This is not a volunteer position.

Call the Geauga County Board of Elections at 440-279-2030 for more information or if you are interested.
