Orwell Man in Serious Condition After Plank Road Crash

An Orwell man is in serious condition following a one-car crash in Montville Township on March 9.

Joseph Jackson Jr., 38, was traveling west on Plank Road in a 2002 Acura RSX-S when his vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway at approximately 2 p.m., striking a culvert. His car then went airborne and struck a tree before coming to a final rest on its top, according to a news release issued by the Chardon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Jackson was transported via helicopter to University Hospitals with serious injures.

Montville and Hambden fire departments and EMS were at the scene assisting with the investigation.

It is unknown whether Jackson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, the patrol said.

Speed and drug use appear to the factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

LaTourette to Hold District Office Hours

State Rep. Sarah LaTourette, R-Chester Township, will hold open office hours in the 76th House District in March.

District office hours are scheduled at Geauga West Library, 13455 Chillicothe Road, Chester, on Saturday, March 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

LaTourette will meet with attendees one-on-one in the order in which the individuals arrive to the office hours.

Geauga County Public Library sponsors the office hours.
