What began as a fledgling art sale fundraiser last year may become the League of Women Voters of Geauga’s flagship charity event as the group prepares for its second Democracy by Design on June 13. The event, held in partnership with Fairmount Center for the Arts, will run from 2-8 p.m. at the arts organization’s new location at 106 Water St. in Chardon. “We didn’t know what to expect (the first year,)” LWV President Carol Benton recalled. “We kind of had low expectations just because we had never done this before and it surpassed all our great expectations we had.”...
