A traffic accident at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 11 in Chardon Township killed a Concord Township woman, according to the Chardon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Marjorie Hill, 83, of Concord Township, was headed southbound on state Route 44 in her 2007 Subaru Forester while David Wickman, 33, of Painesville, who was westbound on Hosford Road, stopped at the two-way stop at Route 44 in a 2017 Tesla before proceeding into the intersection.

His car struck the 2007 Subaru Forester, a patrol spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Hill, who was not wearing a safety belt, was taken by emergency helicopter to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, the highway patrol reported, adding Wickman, who was wearing his seatbelt, was treated at the scene for possible injuries and released.

The crash remains under investigation and charges against Wickman are to be determined, the patrol spokeswoman said.
