20-F-000395 – Christopher P. Hitchcock, Treasurer of Geauga County, Ohio, Plaintiff vs. Mark Paterek, et al., Defendants
Mark Paterek, and the Unknown Spouse and/or Heirs of Mark Paterek, whose last known address is 18180 Haskins Road, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023, and whose present address is unknown, and cannot, with reasonable diligence, be ascertained shall take notice; and, if deceased, their unknown heirs, devises, legatees, administrators, executors and assigns will take notice that on the 25th day of June, 2020, the Treasurer Of Geauga County, filed a Complaint in the Court of Common Pleas, Geauga County, Ohio, located at 100 Short Court Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024 entitled Christopher P. Hitchcock, Treasurer Of Geauga County vs. Mark Paterek, et al., Case No: 20-F-000395, against the above-named parties, praying that the premises hereinafter described be sold for the collection of delinquent real estate taxes, owed and unpaid, is $14,461.38 together with accruing taxes, assessments, penalties, interest and charges; as well as court costs. Said premises is described as permanent parcel numbers 02-272800 and 02-272900. A complete legal description of the parcel(s) can be obtained from the Geauga County Recorder’s Office. The volume and page number for the parcel(s) can be obtained from the Geauga County Auditor’s Office.
The object of the action is to obtain from the Court a judgment foreclosing the tax liens against such real estate and ordering the sale of such real estate for the satisfaction of delinquent taxes.
Such action is brought against the real property only and no personal judgment shall be entered in it. However, if pursuant to the action, the property is sold for an amount that is less than the amount of the delinquent taxes, assessments, charges, penalties and interest against it, the Court, in a separate order, may enter a deficiency judgment against the owner of record of a parcel for the amount of the difference; if that owner of record is a corporation, the Court may enter the deficiency judgment against the stockholder holding a majority of the corporation’s stock.
The above-named parties are required to answer on or before 28 days after the last date of publication. Such answer must be filed with the Clerk of Courts, and a copy must be served on the Prosecuting Attorney.

Geauga County
Notice is hereby given that competitive sealed proposals, pursuant to O.R.C. §307.862, and marked as “Geauga County CDBG Grant Program Attn: Christine Blair, Clerk” will be received during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday or by mail until 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in the Geauga County Board of Commissioners Office at 470 Center Street, Building #4, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Proposals received shall be publicly opened and read aloud the same day at said office at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2020, for providing the necessary services to assist the Department of Development with administering their CDBG Grant, hereafter referred to as The Project.
The County is seeking assistance administering and implementing their PY2019 Grant Program, completing the projects approved in the Grant, and complying with all associated reporting required by the OHIO DEVELOPMENT SERVICE AGENCY.
Therefore, the Project should include, and not be limited to:
• Preparing and submitting the paperwork and documentation necessary to receive a release of funds from OHIO DEVELOPMENT SERVICES AGENCY including Environmental Review.
• Preparing the necessary contracts required to implement the activities associated with PY2019.
• Assist the County in preparation of performance reports, and other necessary reports as required by OHIO DEVELOPMENT SERVICES AGENCY.
• Assist in the disbursement, including the documentation required, to assure the appropriate work was completed including: Preparation of all necessary documents; processing draw-downs for CDBG funds; maintain an adequate number of pre-approved contractors to complete the construction work as indicated in the application; prepare correspondence as necessary to complete the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG) Program.
• Develop and maintain files that document OHIO DEVELOPMENT SERVICES AGENCY and HUD Compliance for all the activities in the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG), for a period of 4 years after the grant is completed.
• Supervise all construction activities related to the Grant, from Inspection to Close-out, including: Contracts; Cost Estimates; Scope of Work; Processing Payments; and Inspection of Work
• Handle all correspondence and communication with Grant funded partners, including all payment requests and backup documentation to present to the County.
• Take all necessary actions to ensure the County’s compliance with the provisions of the 2019 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG) Grant Agreement including all attachments thereto.
Other Services that may be requested:
• Assisting the County with determining what other Grants may be available for Economic Development purposes in the County
Respondents to this Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals (RFP) will represent a firm, company, team or individual possessing experience and expertise in administering CDBG Grant Programs in Ohio through the Ohio Department of Development Services Agency (ODSA).

The successful proposer is required to furnish a bond for the faithful performance of the contract in a sum of not less than One Hundred Percent (100%) of the total proposal price for the complete work, said bond to be that of an approved surety company authorized to transact business in the State of Ohio substantially meeting the requirements of the O.R.C. Section 153.57.
